Kollwood star Surya will soon welcome fans on their telly screens through his gameshow Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi. Hosting the show from the quizmaster’s seat he will lend an opportunity for the eager ones to win a handsome sum of Rs.1 crore. Vijay TV Satellite Channel has roped in the star, agreeing for a record fee.
An insider reveals, “Surya is being paid Rs 50 lakhs for a single show. In total the season has 40 episodes, making it a record salary for any television show.” Earlier the makers were hoping to rope in Ilayathapathy Vijay to host the show, but the deal dint work out as expected. To be seated on the 1 crore chair participants will have to go through the “Fastest finger first” round, and the first one to press the button with the right answer makes it to a round of 15 questions. On answering all 15 of them correctly they will be presented with the jackpot cheque. In the neighboring regions it’s actor Puneeth Rajkumar hosting the Kannada version and Suresh Gopi, doing the Malayalam versions. Surya has been shooting for the first season of Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi , juggling between his Maatraan schedules with director KV Anand. He says to his fans, “Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi launching on 27th February at 8 P.M in Star Vijay TV.”
